One of the first organisations to receive next generation certification

BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LSE: BVC; TASE: BATM), a leading provider of real-time technologies for the networked telecoms and medical laboratory equipment markets, is pleased to announce that, through its wholly-owned Telco Systems (“Telco”) subsidiary, it has received Metro Ethernet Forum (“MEF”) Carrier Ethernet 2.0 certification based on its Carrier Ethernet/MPLS solutions. The Company is one of the first 20 organisations globally to receive this prestigious accreditation. The Metro Ethernet Forum is a global industry alliance that develops technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide. Its certification program, which covers equipment, services and professionals, is the telecommunication industry’s reference for Carrier Ethernet excellence. To be recognized as CE 2.0 compliant, each company must pass a suite of 690 stringent tests. The CE 2.0 certification is characterized by three standardized features: multiple classes of service (multi-CoS), interconnect and manageability. In addition, CE 2.0 expands on CE 1.0 by increasing the requisite services from three to eight – two from each of E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree and E-Access, as defined in MEF Service Specifications and Implementation Agreements.

Dr Zvi Marom, Chief Executive Officer of BATM, said: “We are proud to be among the first group of vendors to receive this certification, which demonstrates the strength of our offering and reflects our position as a leading Carrier Ethernet provider. Our customers can confidently offer new broadband business and wholesale services with greater flexibility, and be assured of faster deployments, monitored and managed in real-time, and simpler interoperability with other carriers’ networks.”
